Travelogue from an expat in Shanghai

After five hours of sleep, I woke up in a start and wondered where I was. Took a couple of seconds before I recognized the room – Shanghai! My beloved Shanghai.

I have so far had an amazingly good trip. Stepped on the flight last Thursday, which was lucky because “all” flights with SAS subsequently were canceled. Was upgraded to business class (yey!). The lounge at the airport, champagne on the plane and lovely big seats that were comfortable to sleep in were a part of the business class. I would really recommend it.

Once at the hotel came the next pleasant surprise. Upgraded again – the premium floor. Thanks! Large beautiful room for my 6 nights here before I can move into my apartment in downtown Shanghai. I have rented my apartment through HomeofShanghai Housing, so lets see if they are a good company or not. They are said to cover 97 % of the housing market in Shanghai, which makes it stupid to believe that they don’t have what you need. The prices are also OK.

Food is high on the list when I’m here, and so far it’s all in Asian. Sichuan Citizen for lunch yesterday with a friend who is still here. The set dinner in the evening due to the flu, but the home dinner at the same lunchvän instead of food from Di Shui Dong.
In between shopping in the hotel market, Zara and, not least, manicure and pedicure at Nails girls Helen’s Nail Spa (Nanchang Lu)
A celestial good day!

Unfortunately, beat jetlag to at night and I fell asleep only at 3. It must be expected.

Now I have taken a leisurely breakfast, downloaded coffee (the hotel is undrinkable) and smart about the brunch at Hakkasan in Restricted. New place for me!

The properties for expats in Shanghai are often very nice and cheap.
